The exhibition attends state and city archives of the Slavic countries. Historical development and sights of Belgrade, Bratislava, Cetinje, Kiev, Ljubljana, Minsk, Moscow, Prague, Sarajevo, Skopje, Sofia, Warsaw and Zagreb will be presented through the records kept in the archives.The project is supported by International Foundation Forum of Slavic Cultures (FSК). III Conference of Archives in the Slavic countries
on October 18-21, 2012
The Conference attended the leaders of republic and city archives from Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Russia, Republic of Srpska, Ukraine and Serbia. The discussed subjects were: New or restored buildings of the archive institutions for contemporary and future needs; New media for the records of the archive institutions.
On this occasion, starting organizational details regarding the preparation of the exhibition The capitals of Slavic countries through the archives were agreed. The exhibition will include presentation of records kept in the archive institutions of the capital cities of Slavic countries: Moscow, Warsaw, Kiev, Minsk, Prague, Bratislava, Ljubljana, Zagreb, Sarajevo, Belgrade, Podgorica, Skopje and Sophia. The standing will be opened on May 6th, 2013 in the building of UNESCO in Paris. Dragan Gačić, the Director of the Archives, was appointed as a member of the Council for the exhibition organization managing the realization of the project.

international workshop of archival science on September 26, 2012

New technologies implementation in processing and
presentation of the archival sources in Serbia
The workshop was opened by Nikola Tasić, academician, vice president of SASA and the Director of the Institute for Balkan studies within SASA.
At first, attendants were informed about involment of the Institute for Balkan studies of SASA in ENArC project, construction of European Union Archives Network through international and national portals, wеb portal Monasterium and experiences of the Faculty of Philosofy in Belgrade. The subject of the second session was Digitization of the records in Serbia : possibilities and perspectives, so the Department for Digitization of SASA, the National Library of Serbia, the Historical Archives of Belgrade and the Military Archives of Serbia presented its programs. The attendants met the contents of the Archives Portal Europe presented by the International Centre for Archival Research ICARUS.
The meeting covered general problems of digitization of the records in Serbia, so gave guidelines for further work. The workshop supported the Ministry of Culture and Information of Republic of Serbia with the resources of the European Commission. |
Days of European Cultural Heritage
in Belgrade, September 20-30, 2012
In accordance with the chosen subject Giving and Endowment, the Historical Archives of Belgrade, on the occasion of 20th anniversary of death of Konstantin Koča Popović, presents to the public its records. The manifestation program includes the visit to the working room of the legator with the testators photos slide show, so medals showcase. Twelve panels presented his life and work accented its involvement in Movement of Surrealism.

University working practice programme
Belgrade working practice programme 2012 includes 21 institutions: 14 departments of the City administration, 7 institutions of culture and 3 Municipality of the City, providing professionaly supervised, four months working practise in realization of the City Administration and University of Belgrade. Historical Archives of Belgrade provided training programme for the position of arhivists including arrangement and processing of documents, so the position of librarian.

The Round table participated representatives of different state and academic institutions from the Republic of Bulgaria, so the representative of the Historical Archives of Belgrade, Slobodan Mandić, the Manager of the Department for Arrangement, Processing and Use of the archives. Discussion considered different aspects of solving the problems related to the process of digitization in Bulgaria in comparison with the experience and implemented projects of developed countries on the subject. Serbia on March 27th 1941
The exhibition realized 26 national institutions of science, culture and art, so among them Historical Archives of Belgrade, too. The authors tried, considering time distance, to perceive objectively three days of the March 1941, which entirely changed the course of Serbian national history. Up to nowadays non exhibited documents and numbered audio records were shown. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Mr Vuk Jeremić opened the exhibition. |

Cooperation with the National Theatre of Belgrade
Mr Dragan Gačić, the Director of the Historical Archives of Belgrade, on the occasion of his visit to the National Theatre of Belgrade on October 26, 2010, donated some of digitized archival documents to the Manager Božidar Đurović in purpose of, the future Museum of the National Theatre, requisites. Neo-Renaissance Architecture
in Budapest
Hungary pronounced 2008 the Year of Renaissance. On that occasion Budapest City Archives opened an exhibition of plans and projects of Neo-Renaissance buildings in the city. The exhibition showed plans and projects, which comprehend characteristic forms of Italian, German and partly French Renaissance. These buildings became a part of the history of the town, treasury of architectural stile, presenters of elegance of its age. Among the projects of public buildings, the exhibition contents larger selection of private housing buildings. Photographs of edifices of Renaissance times – a part of Collection of Photographs of Klösz György, supply the exhibition.
In this way, Historical Archives of Belgrade participates in this year’s manifestation of European Heritage Days (September 2009). |

In the period between 29 and 31 October 2008, Historical Archives of Belgrade made an expert visit to the Budapest City Archives and National Archives of Hungary.
On that ocassion, Historical Archives of Belgrade and Budapest City Archives signed an agreement which formalized previous successful cooperation. Cooperation includes documentation research, exchange of reproduced archive materials and archivists, technical literature and expiriences, organizing and realization of mutual projects. |

Milorad Mišković and Dezmond Gines
Historical Archives of Belgrade in cooperation with the Assembly of the City of Belgrade organized evening with Milorad Mišković, great ballet artist, choreographer, art director of UNESCO, president of honour of International Dance Council of UNESCO and Mr Desmond Gines, founder of Irish Georgian Society, held on September 10th, 2007 at Conference Hall of the City Assembly. The Event exibited large format posters of Milorad Mišković, documentary movie of Milorad Mišković, but ballet couple performed second act of ballet Swan Lake. The event opened Branka Prpa, PhD, Director of Historical Archives of Belgrade and about Mišković talked Gorica Mojović and Jovan Ćirilov.
The evening was organized within the visit of Georgian Society, in occasion of celebration the European Prize for Cultural Heritage Europa Nostra, granted to the President, Desmond Gines.

BITEF
40th anniversary of new theatre tendencies
The publication considering 300 pages of documents kept in Historical Archives of Belgrade, was devided on thematic units reflecting foundation of the festival, its organizational bodies, main and following program, interviews with creators on round tables, administration boards, members of the jury, corespondence with the eminent persons from the world of theatre (Bruck, Chulli, Vilson, Grotovski) so the interesting events published in daily bulletin.
Beside the important information from all previous manifestations, publication includes a large number of photos, scanned documents, posters, programs, press clipping.
Introductory on BITEF and its role wrote Jovan Ćirilov, art director of BITEF, but opening speech Branka Prpa, editor in chief.

VI meeting entitled
New technologies and standards: digitization of cultural heritage
At the meeting organized by the National Centre for Digitization participated our colleagues Svetlana Adžić and Srđan Orestijević. Presentations they held indicated problems of archival materials digitization and implementation of international standards.

Third European Conference on EAD, EAC, and METS
Held from April 24 until 26, 2007, in Berlin organized by State Archives of Germany, under sponsorship of European board of International Council of Archives (EURBICA) and Europe Council. The conference attended about 250 representatives from European, Archives of Russia, USA and Australia. Two representatives of Historical Archives of Belgrade, Svetlana Adžić, head of Informational Center and Slobodan Mandić, archivist trainee attended the Conference. This large number of attendants proves that the subject of the Conference caused a great interest of archivists, so launched at the right time and in the turning point of archives deciding on further development in the context of informatical revolution which dramatically influenced professional, theoretical and archival service in practise.
Since the Archives use Internet more and more, to facilitate free and unrestricted access to fonds and collections, independent of time and place, in front of the archives is set as a prerquisite for exchange descriptive information and metadata on digitized and originally digital material, the need of using international standards EAD, EAC, and METS.
Thus, the Third International Conference provided general information on standards, represented expiriences of those Archives which already implemented it, so considered the different aspects of its application. The Conference program was extensive, seriousllypllaned, and provided complete introduction of previous expirience and streams in the future to the present attendants. Some Archives went further (beside the information provides digitized documents), but some are on the very beginning. It is specially emphasized that digitization provides enlarged number of access to the archival materials. Lecturers presented to theConference attendants complete insight, expiriences and models of application program which allows application of the standards for digital archives, creation of electronic finding aids, development of searching tools and other usefull recommendations and advices. One of the lecturers commented the need of standardization: “What are you doing and how do you behave in the privacy of Your depots - its Your thing, but when You go out on the World Wide Web, please `dress` standardized”!
