Archivals 1837-1941
Archive materials offers many information on history of Belgrade in the XIX century. Data are related to the political developments (dynasty changing in1840, Rising lead by Vučić in 1842, Katan Rebelion in 1844, developments 1848, St Andrej assembly of the Parliament in 1858, Belgrade bombing in 1862, Mihailo assassination in 1868 –inventory of things), then communal construction, partition of estates during Belgrade expansion away from city walls, craftsmen associations, crafts, statistics, health situation, educational, ethnography. Archive materials until Ottomans left Belgrade in 1867, include data on relations between Serbs and Turks, actually on theirs often conflicts.
Archive materials relating early XX century and period between two world wars is kept particularly. Of this reason data, which these archive materials provides, are poor. As significant it is needed to be mentioned – data provides information on: Serbian army military operations and foreign agencies news on war operations and happening (Telegrams being sent from the City of Niš during 1915 to the Administration of the City of Belgrade).

Archivals 1919-1921, 1941-1944
The archive materials from period 1919-1921 include applications for issuing passports (for delegates from Istra at Peace Conference in Paris 1919); checking information on persons which applied for: citizenship, reception in service, arrested persons, military purposes, work permits for superintendant. It includes also: applications and approvals for organizing public meetings, artistic and theathre shows; prohibitions of press, journals and pamphlets; Files of persons arrested because of involvement in demonstrations, launching false information etc.
The archive materials from occupation period includes files of I, II, III and IV Section. Archivals of the first three sections consist of correspondence and files of arrested persons. It concerns of politically characterized punishments and information  on general political situation in Serbia and other parts of occupied Yugoslavia, on action of Draža Mihailović chetnics, espionage, black market, foreign citizens, concentration camps etc. Archival documentation of IV Section consist of correspondence and files of arrested and interrogated persons, with abudant information on Yugoslavia Communist Party activities and many ways of struggle against occupant and its cooperators.
