Ambassador of Israel to Serbia Yahel Vilan together with Lana Eraković, press officer of the Israeli Embassy in Belgrade, visited the Historical Archives of Belgrade on May 18th 2022. The visit was organized after the Archives had won Remembering Hilda Dajč award for 2022, for the work on the Jewish Digital Collection project. This award will be presented annually for outstanding contribution to the remembrance culture.
During the visit, ambassador Vilan was informed on all activities and projects of the Belgrade Archives implemented in the period from 2014 to 2021, which included digitization, education and on line presentation of the archival material related to Holocaust and to life of Jewish community in Belgrade.
The ambassador was welcomed by director Dragan Gačić MA, and presentation of the implemented projects was held by Tijana Kovčić, archivist and coordinator of the project Jewish Digital Collection and by Jelena Nikolić, assistant directоr.
