Jovan Ćirilov (1931- 2014), artistic director and selector of BITEF with the longest time in the office of a selector of one of on the scene European festivals, the author of a number of books, dictionaries, a translator. He wrote screenplays for a number of feature films and radio plays. In addition to a number of other awards, he is the holder of the French Knight of Arts and Letters Award.
Since 2004, the Historical Archives of Belgrade has been taking over, successively, the documents of Jovan Ćirilov for his personal fond . So far, 125 boxes have been transferred to the Archives.
The legacy keeps the documents covering the activities the legator is engaged in, journals from his travels the world over, notes from the competitions where he was one of the jurors, numerous photographic files, illustrations of theater performances and theater companies from all over the world.
